Short introduction by Ines Lopez Arteaga, Director EWUU Education.
Transdisciplinary Education by Dimitra Mousa (UU), and Anke de Vrieze (WUR): So what is transdisciplinary education? And why is this important? To tackle the world’s complex problems, transdisciplinary approaches in education are essential. Dimitra Mousa (EWUU Education) and Anke de Vrieze (Centre for Unusual Collaborations) will answer these questions. As well as provide offerings to prepare people working in this way.
Students’ Learning Experiences and Learning Gains in Challenge-Based Learning, by Cassandra Tho (WUR) and Yvette Baggen (WUR): What do our students actually learn from participating in challenge-based learning at the EWUU Alliance? And what learning experiences contribute to these learning gains? The Cassandra Tho (WUR) and Yvette Baggen (WUR) will share the latest results from this research. Together with the other members of the research team, Despoina Georgiou (UU), Heleen Pennings (UMC Utrecht) and Antoine van den Beemt (TU/e), they conducted interviews with 19 students to gain insight into their learning gains, as well as the learning experiences that played a key role in their learning journey.
