We primarily design and apply legal rights for humans and the functioning of society, but these rights can be extended to non-humans. In some instances, companies have been granted legal rights, and there is a growing movement trying to grant legal rights to nature or parts of nature. How is this possible? What happens if there is a legal dispute between nature and another party? Can nature defend itself?
For the Weekend van de wetenschap (October 05 & 06), the All in the Same Boat team explore these questions in a lecture series at the Nederlands Watermuseum. The lectures are aimed at children and their families, and they will will focus on the rights of rivers and the nature of that conversation in the Netherlands. Join the team on 06 October, 2024 from 13:45 to 15:15 for these engaging lectures! Register here!
