The Complexity team is looking for one or more researcher(s) from UMCU or TU/e who add(s) (1) technical expertise with/interest in human wearable or digital health monitoring technology, (2) knowledge about how and why people engage with their own health, or (3) unusual perspectives to the team. Please find more information below.
We are Peter, Callum, Anouk and Kristina, an existing CUCo Spark team. Our experience is diverse: Peter is a physicist, Callum’s research focuses on science and society, Anouk is a marketer, and Kristina is a health demographer. We are looking for an additional member to our team to apply for the UCo grant together for a potential UCo project beginning next year.
This will build on our current Spark project, which explores why people monitor their health with wearables. We’ve conducted a literature review and qualitative interviews on this topic. To take this project to its next phase, we plan to apply a complex system lens to the theme of digital health monitoring. The methods are not limited to systems mapping, examining feedback loops, and analyzing interacting elements and various actors (individual, groups, healthcare providers, researchers, companies, and government) that contribute to why some people monitor their health, and others not.
Ideally, we are looking for a teammate (or teammates!) from UMCU or TU/e who has an interest in the broader topic and/or methods. This person could have: (1) technical expertise with/interest in human wearable or digital health monitoring technology, (2) knowledge about how and why people engage with their own health, or (3) unusual perspectives to our team.
For more information and questions, please visit our project website and/or contact kristina.thompson@wur.nl. We look forward to hearing from you!
