Purpose

The Centre for Unusual Collaborations would like to enable its teams to share their insights with others both within and beyond the CUCo community. CUCo has therefore decided to use the remaining funds from the ‘26 Unusual Collaborations lottery towards a Tentacular Reach Fund. The Tentacular Reach Fund is an opportunity for current and previously funded CUCo teams to develop a specific product, workshop, or tool, or to cover unforeseen costs related to dissemination, such as publication costs or conference fees.

Eligibility criteria

All past recipients of CUCo grants – both Spark and Unusual Collaborations – are eligible to apply, as well as the current participants of the ‘26 Unusual Collaborations programme. Applicants need to have been included in a granting letter or letter of participation issued by CUCo in order to be considered eligible.

Applicants are free to submit a proposal with (part of) their original team or individually, although the former is strongly encouraged.

Selection criteria

Funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Proposals will be reviewed by the CUCo team based on the following criteria:

  • Does the proposal align with CUCo’s vision and values?
  • Does the proposal contribute to the valorization of knowledge generated through CUCo?

Amount of funds

The CUCo Tentacular Reach Fund has € 45K to distribute. Applicants may ask for up to €5K. Funds need to be spent in their entirety by the end of 2026.

Application format

Please find the application form here. Applicants are required to report back to CUCo by early 2027 in a format suitable for publication on the CUCo website.

Application deadline

The call will be opened during the CUCo Community Day on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Applications are welcomed on a rolling basis until the available funds have been allocated in their entirety. The call will close on Tuesday, December 1, 2026 for administrative reasons.
